Five Lessons I’ve Learned From Types Of Theology. There are many types of Theology. Theological study involves exploring the scriptures and the meaning behind them. It also involves learning about how the Bible is used in our lives to help us make decisions and to live by its guidance. In addition to this, the study of the Bible gives us a deeper understanding of who we are and how we should interact with others.
Some of the main types of Theology include Orthodox, Conservative, Liberal, Reformed, and Alternative Theology. Orthodox Theology believes that the Bible is God's word and that it is infallible. It also teaches that salvation is by grace through faith alone, without our doing anything. Orthodox Theology often teaches that salvation is only possible through Christ and that God saves everyone who will accept him as their savior. In addition to this, Orthodox Theology also has a strong belief in the concept of providence, which sees bad events as occurring for a reason.
Conservative Theology believes that the Bible contains absolute truth and that God is just and unjust. Many people that belong to this type of Theology have very limited understandings of God and therefore tend to feel that everything that the Bible says is true. Conservative Theology often emphasizes the need for intellectual humility and a humble standpoint toward the things of God. Conservative Christians also have a great respect for the biblical interpretation of the Bible.
Liberalism on the other hand believes that the Bible contains no contradictions. This kind of Theology also looks at the Bible as a historical book, which means that there are no contradictions or problematic issues regarding the details of the biblical story. Additionally, most liberals believe that salvation is possible through the new testament, which they view as God's free gift given to his children. As such, these Christians do not look to the Old Testament to justify their actions or beliefs regarding morality.
New Age Theology is an eclectic of different groups of Theologies that are considered to be very relevant in today's world. These include traditional Biblical Theology, Pentatonic and Zen Theology, Progressive Theology, and many others.
